RealityFlint is primarily a hip hop vocalist, writer and producer, but he isn't limited to the hip hop genre. His style ventures out into genres such as rock, pop, emo and rap as well. He's considered a poet as opposed to an entertainer. In other words, his intention is to grip the hearts of his listeners instead of strictly entertaining them.

His name "RealityFlint" has an interesting history to it. He actually started with the stage name "Tekniqk (technique)" while as a member of the group "Rated R." The name derived from his opinion that it takes a special technique and dedication to have positive lyrics while rapping at the same time. The history of rap/hip hop has proven that its genre can be strongly negative lyrically while at the same time being very truthful. He thought "Tekniqk" would be an interesting twist that mixed well with his intentions to remain positive and truthful with his lyrics.

In the year 2000, "Tekniqk" decided to break away from "Rated R." He felt that he was being led to speak more in-depth about the struggles of every day, overlooked circumstances. He felt that "Rated R" limited that opportunity due to the group's typical song arrangements. He felt that rapping one verse here and there wasn't enough to get his message across to people. Thus, began the name "Reality." He felt that the name "Reality" expressed his desire to be down-to-earth with his listeners. He wanted to share his personal struggles in a way that gave typical hip hop a different twist. He also felt that hip hop lacked a lot of melodic creativity in its music, and he wanted it to have that "Tekniqk" flavor with a twist of "Reality."

The name "RealityFlint" came into play when he noticed that his listeners struggled to find him on the internet due to the numerous other artists also named "Reality." He then decided to add his home town of Flint, MI to his name. He felt that the word Flint mixed well with his lyrical intentions, because Flint is also a type of rock that is known very well for being hard and tough. He felt that "RealityFlint" was a unique name that still fell in line with his lyrical intentions: To speak on a personal level, even if the message is hard to deliver or hear. He wanted his listeners to relate to the fact that the hard realities of life mold us into people with certain techniques that can overcome despair.

Presently, "RealityFlint" has been working on an album called "Pretty Damage." Its release will be in the spring/summer of 2010. Its availability will be limited to internet downloading and email/IM CD mailing requests. He has decided to strictly do music for lyrical and poetic purposes from this point on - mainly to remain underground due to the enjoyment of the creativity on a personal level. He feels that he can impact others better this way while remaining true to who he is. "Pretty Damage" is meant as a way of saying that evil may appear, but it will never prevail.

In 2006, "Reality", AKA "RealityFlint" and "Tekniqk", was interviewed on a Los Angeles, CA radio show along side "East-West" and "Unbound".
